Importing submissions from a submittal
When you receive a submittal file, you might want to update a vault with the documents contained in it. The Meridian Transmittal Management Module makes it easy to decide whether or not the documents should be imported and the module takes care of all of the tedious checks necessary to ensure that the integrity and consistency of the vault data are protected.
Before you begin
The submittal from which you want to import the submissions must first be imported into the vault as described in Importing a submittal.”
To import submissions from a submittal:
- Select the submittal in the vault that contains the documents that you want to import.
- Click Document, point to Transmittal Management, and then click Import from Submittal. The Import from Briefcase dialog box appears listing a default in the Action column to perform for each document depending on the status of the document.
Tip You may also click the Import from Submittal button
on the Transmittal Management toolbar, if the toolbar is enabled in PowerUser.
- Confirm that the value of Action is correct for every document. All documents in the submittal will be processed when you click OK, regardless of which documents are selected.
- To change the import action for a document, right-click the document name, point to Change Action, and select Do Nothing, Import as New, or Update.
Note You cannot change the import action for documents when viewing briefcases with the View Transmittal command described in Viewing and editing a transmittal and elsewhere in this guide. You must use Import from Submittal instead.
- When the value of Action is correct for all documents in the submittal, click OK.
- If a document has not been imported into the vault before, the Select Folder dialog box appears.
- Select the destination folder for the imported documents and click OK.
- The Import document from Briefcase dialog shows the progress of the import.
- Click OK when the import is finished.
Note The current vault view might need to be refreshed to see the imported documents.
